RN First Assist - Operating Room - Wyandotte - Fulltime Rotating shift
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
The RNFA must have acquired the necessary knowledge, judgment and skills specific to the expanded role of RNFA Clinical practice. Intraoperatively, the RNFA practices at the direction of the surgeon and does not concurrently function as a scrub nurse.
Current Michigan RN license.
Certification as a CRNFA is desired from the Competency Institute and Credentialing (CCI). A RNFA who is not certified upon hire will have 1 year from date of hire to complete the certification. All staff within the current job description will continue to perform in the job classification and known as a RNFA.
The CRNFA is a perioperative RN with (3) years experience as a registered nurse who has successfully completed a RNFA program (didactic and clinical requirements) that meets Competency and Credentialing Institute (CCI) and Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) educational standards, has successfully completed the CRNFA exam from CCI and is certified as a Certified Nurse Operating Room (AORN).
BCLS and ACLS certification required and must be maintained per hospital policy.
