GENERAL SUMMARY:

The manager of Rehabilitation Services is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for the department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered rehabilitation services. This role oversees daily operations, staff engagement, clinical quality, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and departmental initiatives while partnering with interdisciplinary teams and organizational leaders to support Henry Ford Health's mission, vision and strategic priorities.

PRINCPLE DUTIES & RESPONSBILITIES:

  • Develop and implement department goals, standards, objectives and performance measures that directly support the strategic plan and vision of Henry Ford Health. 
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight of rehabilitation services, ensuring efficient operations and a high standard patient care. 
  • Assess and monitor the quality, safety, and effectiveness of patient care and rehabilitation services, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement. 
  • Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, nurses, therapists and other healthcare providers to promote effective coordination of care and positive patient outcomes. 
  • Lead, coach, and develop rehabilitation staff while fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team environment.
  • Assists in interviews and hires all job postings within region. Completes individual staff performance reviews of supervisors and provides input to other staff members reviews as appropriate. Provides support for staff development; assists in progressive disciplinary action and development of remediation plans and performance improvement plans as necessary and terminates subordinates as indicated. 
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, organizational policies and clinical best practices. 
  • Support the implementation of new programs, technologies, workflows, and initiative designed to enhance patient and employee experience. 
  • Represent Rehabilitation Services in organizational meetings, committees and initiative as appropriate.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Physical Therapist Bachelor’s degree with five (5) years of experience OR Master's/Doctorate degree acquired from a Commission on Accreditation of Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE) accredited program, OR Occupational Therapy Bachelor’s degree acquired from an Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) accredited program, OR Speech and Language Pathologist Master’s degree acquired from American Speech and Hearing Association.

  • Five (5) years of experience as a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, or Speech and Language Pathologist.

  • 3 years of leadership or management experience preferred.

  • Advanced degree in Business or Management preferred. • Experience in leadership role required.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:

  • Current State of Michigan licensure.

  • Current CPR certification.
