Nurse Practitioner Physician Assistant/SICU/Detroit/Midnights/Full Time
Education: The Nurse Practitioner must have a current registered nurse license with the State of Michigan, a Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing school, and have completed an Adult Acute Care NP program as well as Nurse Practitioner certification in the state of Michigan. Family Nurse Practitioners will not be considered.
For PAs interested in applying must have graduated from accredited Physician Assistant program, be certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, have an active State of Michigan Physician Assistant License.
All APPs are expected to develop and maintain a collaborative agreement with supervising physician. Must hold BLS and ACLS certification. Must be eligible or have obtained a DEA number for prescriptive authority in Michigan. Must have no encumbering circumstances which would prevent credentialing by the Henry Ford Medical board.
Experience: At least five years’ experience as a Registered Nurse within a critical care environment is required and 2 years as an inpatient Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner is preferred.
For physician assistants, a minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in adult setting is required.

- BCLS Certification required
- ACLS Certification required Requires certification in one of the following: ANA certification exam in a nursing specialty field; National Certification Corporation (NCC); National Certification Board of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners and Associates; and/or Certification from Michigan State Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) -OR- a Physician Assistant must be certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, have an active State of Michigan Physician Assistant License
