Medical Staff Services Coordinator (1.0 Full Time Day Shift) Clinton Township Campus
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
MINIMUM EDUCATION
Associate degree or two years college education is required.
CPMSM or CPCS certification by the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) within one year from date of hire.
Affiliation with the National Association of Medical Staff Services (NAMSS) and the Michigan Association of Medical Staff Services (MAMSS) strongly recommended.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
5 years in health care setting
3 years in hospital and/or managed care credentialing
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
Medical staff services experience.
Knowledge of credentialing database, MSOW preferred.
Five (5) years in a hospital and/or managed care credentialing setting is required. Six Sigma work environment experience, preferred. High level of energy to work in a fast paced environment often including time deadlines, frequent interruptions, heavy workload, multiple demands and multi- tasking. Ability to be flexible. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and re-prioritize as necessary. Excellent and effective communication skills both written and verbal. Word processing, data input, strong computer skill and letter composition skills required. Ability to efficiently handle designated responsibilities independently in an accurate and timely manner. Ability to positively interact with physicians, hospital personnel, and guests both in the office and on the phone. Excellent customer service skills required. Excellent problem-solving skills.
