Clinical Nurse Specialist / Nurse Practice Specialist ER / Detroit / Full time Day Shift
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited institution with evidence of Nursing theory, research, and clinical concentration in care of acutely ill patients. If the MSN did not contain a minimum of 500 clinical hours, the candidate will obtain a post graduate certificate that meets the clinical component standard within 3 years of the date of hire and take an advanced practice nurse certification.
• Current Michigan RN license.
• ANCC Clinical Nurse Specialist certification is now required since the change in the Michigan State law. If one lacks the certification they would be hired as a Nurse Practice Specialist and have 90 days to obtain the certification.
• Three to five years of progressive ER experience.
• Excellent leadership and teaching abilities.
• Ability to apply the concepts of adult learning theory in planning and implementing educational activities.
