Under close supervision, receives payments from patients and visitors for use of hospital parking facilities and records amount received. Operates counting mechanism to determine frequency of lot usage. Practices positive customer relations.



  • Records beginning and ending counter numbers and records same on shift report in order to reconcile correctly the money received.

  • Calculates and disburses correct amount of change to driver. No foreign currency will be accepted.

  • Totals money received on cash register and verifies total with cash received. Reconciles totals if errors are found. Records totals on shift report.

  • Records of shift reports shall be kept by the departments and regularly reviewed by supervisors.

  • Responsible for keeping booth clean (free of paper, cups, wrappers, bags, newspapers, magazines, etc.)

  • Phones provided in booths are for emergencies only. Use of phone for personal calls is prohibited.

  • Cashiers are encouraged to review their own reports on a routine basis with the supervisor.

  • We will continue to investigate and make checks of equipment to insure proper working condition and determine and malfunctions. Periodic checks of counters will be conducted by an impartial source to ensure accuracy and protect cashiers.


    * Overages/shortages are considered to occur when the revenue received does not fall within the manufactures accepted limits and tolerance of counter system.

    * All overages/shortages will be recorded and kept by the parking office.

     Performs other duties as required.



  • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent with courses in mathematics is required to determine correct fee and change.

  • Previous cashier experience is preferred

  • Requires the ability to add, subtract, and multiple numbers.

  • Handles and fingers money, tickets and cash register.

  • Must read tickets, count money and fill out shift reports.

  • Daily contact with patients and visitors to collect parking fees.
