Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will work primarily at our Dearborn clinic with shifts at our Plymouth clinic.
Advanced Practice Professional (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to provide and coordinate exceptional patient care in collaboration with all members of our team within the Gastrointestinal subspecialty of Advanced Therapeutics. The ideal candidate should have minimum of 1-2 years of GI exposure/ experience.
- Provides outpatient medical care with the supervision but not necessarily the presence of a qualified physician member of the medical staff.
- Takes patient history, performs physical examination, orders and interprets tests, makes diagnoses and institutes appropriate treatment programs.
- Works in collaboration with all members of our team within the Gastrointestinal subspecialty of Advanced Therapeutics staff physicians, house officers, nurses and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved in a safe and efficient manner.
- Specific procedures are individually credentialed as indicated by training and experience.
Functional Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and provides direct patient care to GI advanced patients with supervision of staff physicians to serve as a clinical extender to improve access, provide transitional care from inpatient to outpatient, and aid in development of outreach clinics.
- Keeps abreast of current research and standards of care to enhance and broaden the scope of clinical practice.
- Aid in program development and meeting/ database management including outreach opportunities
- Participate in research initiatives as deemed appropriate

EDUCATION: Master's degree in nursing or Bachelor's Degree; completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: Current certification as a Certified Nurse Practitioner and registered Nurse or Physician Assistant Michigan state licensure; and continued certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA).OR-
Current ACLS/BLS as required. Current ATLS/PALS provider status as required.
