Manager - Reproductive Medicine Lab

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Manager-Reproductive Medicine Lab oversees diagnostic methods and testing
personnel within assigned laboratories/departments. Ensures compliance with all
Henry Ford Health policies, procedures and guidelines according to applicable
authority levels, laws and regulations. Works collaboratively with the Laboratory
Director to ensure the achievement of goals that are consistent with Henry Ford
Health’s strategic plan. Assures compliance with Henry Ford Health’s mission and
values for providing service excellence.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assists the Laboratory Director with the maintenance and improvement of quality
control, quality assurance and proficiency testing programs.
• Collaborates with appropriate departments to ensure that the operation and
development of the Laboratory Information System (LIS) provides the necessary
support for clinical operations.
• Facilitates IRB approved research protocols.
• On behalf of the Laboratory Director, participates in the preparation, approval,
editing and maintenance of all policy and procedure manuals. Ensures that
personnel comply with all applicable policies, procedures, laws and regulations.
• Manages budget at the testing site.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent
discipline. Master’s degree preferred.
• Six (6) years of experience in laboratory operations, including at least two (2) years
in a leadership capacity.
• Experience in a clinical laboratory environment preferred
