GENERAL SUMMARY: 

Responsible for handling and/or performing the dispatch function. Performs a variety of complex tasks, which include but are not limited to, gathering and inputting data into the Department's computer terminal, controlling/monitoring electronic security systems that include access controls, alarm monitoring, CCTV monitoring/repair/service and Security Incident Report Entry. Responsible for monitoring and logging all aspects of the dispatch function including dispatching and directing Officers and taking routine reports. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: 

  • Associate's Degree. 
  • Three (3) months experience as a security officer or dispatcher, preferred. 
  • Ability to type 25 wpm. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required to interact effectively with various internal and external customers. 
  • Ability to operate computer systems and prepackaged software, preferred. 
  • Ability to effectively and appropriately respond to emergent and stressful situations. 
  • Excellent visual, hearing and verbal abilities are required in order to monitor security systems and to communicate with security staff and customers. 
  • Must be multi-task oriented and have the ability to prioritize work.
