Under the direction of a Cardiologist, performs diagnostic ultrasonic procedures for evaluation as prescribed by a physician. Requires knowledge and use of highly specialized equipment.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Completed requirements as a Cardiac Sonographer from accredited program.
- Must be eligible to sit for Registered Cardiac Sonographer designation from national accreditation board.
- Completed Cardiac Sonographer program and eligible for Registry certification.
- Registered Cardiac Sonographer in an established hospital non-invasive cardiac testing unit, preferred.
LICENSURES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Registered Cardiac Sonographer within one year of hire.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in a patient care setting with occasional exposure to unpleasant patient care tasks. Daily interaction with family members and staff. Extensive walking, standing, lifting, pushing, and the like may be necessary. Occasional interaction with disgruntled/unsatisfied patients and families. Outside travel to satellite locations as necessary.
This position will work from 7am to 5:30pm during the week and take call from 5:30pm to 7:00am seven days a week. The requirement we have for contingent employees is to work one weekend per month, and one day (M-F) per month as well. The contingent employee will split call with another person the weekend they work, no other requirements for call.
